SMART POWER TRAINING SYSTEMS

All of SETPRO's products are based on the latest sports research. This means you get the most out of every training minute.

Mechanics and Training: Chicken or Egg. Most of us have heard the phrase "which came first, the chicken or the egg?". This question is used when describing a sequence of actions that affect each other. This question is an important one for baseball players. It can be restated as: How does training affect mechanics and how does mechanics affect training? At SETPRO we put as much effort into understanding pitching and hitting mechanics as we do designing training systems. Our efforts use the latest in sports science and computer analysis. We then applied this information to the design of "pitching specific" and "hitting specific" training programs. These training programs are then field tested and closely monitored for results.

Batspeed is the single most important measure of a hitters development. Maximizing your bat speed not only improves power (distance), it also improves mechanics, allows you to wait on the ball longer and most importantly, give you the confidence to challenge the pitcher. Confidence comes from repeatedly training to maximum bat speed. It’s the only way to get game ready in the shortest time. Dave Hudgens (pro hitting coach Oakland Athletics, author of “Hitting for Excellence”) says “Bat speed is what every excellent hitter has, and what every mediocre hitter wants”. Your most important training tool is the SMART POWER COMPUTER/TRAINER. By measuring and trying to improve each swing will you achieve maximum results in the shortest time. Using one of more of our swing training systems (using Power Fins, PROCUT, SPEEDBAT, etc.) insures maximum results from every work out.

BASIC SMART POWER TRAINING Swinging different loads (overload and underload) combined with seeing your bat speed on every swing will give you the greatest improvement in the shortest time. This is called “sport specific training with feedback”. You set up a training program to swing 3-6 times a week, taking 50-150 swings (the number depends on the training desired). It takes 20-30 minutes to complete. This program is guaranteed to improve your bat speed by 10 MPH in 14 days. If you have the time and desire, it can add 20 MPH or more.
