SMART POWER
TRAINING FOR SOFTBALL

Robert Acosta from Iselin New Jersey is a softball fanatic.
He is a teacher by profession. His passion is softball. Robert is 26 years old, 6’ tall and weighs 170#. Robert plays about 120 games a year. Robert called me almost two years ago and asked if I thought he could improve his hitting power. I asked Robert what type of training he was doing. "Some weight lifting, some running and anytime we have practice (which was not very often). Robert told me that this past season he hit 6 home runs and batted .379 (119 games). "If I could just add 30 feet to my drives, I’d be very happy"

"The SMART POWER SYSTEM is the most efficient training method available" I explained to Robert. "It is based on the latest training information and research. We’ve taken Ray DiMarini’s ideas on bat speed to a new level. Ray used a bat speed meter in his videos to demonstrate how bat speed was affected by swing mechanics. We not only do bat speed for mechanics but have developed a complete power training system".

I asked Robert if he would be willing to train 3 times a week for about 45 minutes. He said yes, he could do that. "Then I guarantee you will add 30 feet to your long ball"

Robert purchased the "ALL STAR TRAINING SYSTEM". He liked the idea that the SP-3A measures bat speed and power. And it’s has special training functions allow you to set the number of swings for your work out sets, keep track of your average speed/power. You take only the right number of swings that improve power. Too few and you don’t properly recruit all of your muscle fibers. Too swings will result in excessive fatigue and train muscle memory below your maximum speed.

About a year later Robert called me. "Just wanted to give you an update on my season. I was a little skeptical when I first started training. I was having too much fun with my workouts. I actually looked forwards to my training days. I always thought "no pain no gain". After about 4 weeks of training my bat speed had gone from 62 to 77 MPH. We had our first scrimmage at a park where I had never hit a home run. I hit 4 "shots" in two games. I ended up the season hitting 53 home runs and raising my average to .522. I was asked to play on two tournament teams. Your system has exceeded my greatest expectations"

Two weeks ago Robert called me again. "I’m calling to give you my annual update (it is now two years since he bought the system). Hit 87 homers and hit .719. Would have done better but had a bad ham string injury and missed twenty percent of my games. Played in a bunch of tournaments even went to California. My training bat speed is now consistently 100 MPH or better (was 62 MPH when I first started). I started training 6 weeks before the season started and did 2-3 sessions a week until I got hurt. I’ll start again in March. Again, thanks so much for your help and keep me posted on any new products"

I do have to say Robert is a little more than our typical customer. Not because of his results were so good. Robert is more because he has a plan and stays with it. Many of our customers work hard for 4 or 5 weeks, have great results and then get lazy. Robert is a perfect example of what consistent SMART POWER training (3 times a week, 30-45 minutes) can do for your softball home run power.
