The setpro classroom is my "attempt" to "help"
unravel and sort out baseball fact from fiction. My technical training
(physics and electrical engineering) combined with my athletic experience
and training allows me to have a different view or should I say
perspective then most baseball people.
Some (parents and coaches of young players and the players themselves)
may find this (my technical training and experience) to be a good
thing.
Good because "hopefully" the information presented here
allows them to understand much better what they have to do to maximize
the capabilities.
Others (the baseball "establishment") may (already have)
find this to be a bad thing. Bad because it "rocks the boat"
of "established beliefs".
And like no other sport, baseball coaching and instructional careers
"depend" on established beliefs.
In the three years of its existence, the setpro web site has gained
many devoted followers. And what I find most gratifying is that
many of these are young man, 15, 16-year-olds who, from the knowledge
gained on this web site, have the ability to question, argue, and
defend their beliefs with much greater factual information then
the much older and supposedly "much wiser" baseball "experts".
Disagreement is one of the most powerful forces for creating change.
But to be constructive, disagreement needs to be supported by "factual"
information.
And that what the setpro classroom attempts to do, provide factual
information to help those who wish to maximize their baseball capabilities.
I'm fortunate to be able to draw upon the expertise of others to
help in this task. Including those with high-level baseball experience
and those with the highest levels of knowledge and experience in
feel such as biomechanics, physiology and kinesiology.
There contributions will make this classroom something very special.
